6 Kurta Styles that all women should know about!

Hello everyone,

Kurtas are such a staple piece in most of our wardrobes, be it a college-goer or the corporates, there is a style for each one of us. When I was in college, I was obsessed with wearing a new mufti everyday and tried not to repeat them again in the week and again when I started working, this obsession grew even more. There are so many varieties and styles of Kurtas available in the market as well as online and the best part is, there are some brands that want to bring these styles to us at a pocket-friendly price too.

One such brand is RANGRITI, that offers a range of bright and colourful Kurtas online for every woman out there. ‘Rang’- meaning colour and ‘Riti’- meaning fashion or trend; Rangriti brings out a line that is a fine blend of feminine cuts and beautiful shades in sync with the latest fashion trends. After going through their vast collection of Kurtas online, here are some of the styles I feel that every woman should have in her closet. I have   also talked about how to style kurtas in different ways in this previous post HERE.

Straight Fit Kurtas:

These kind of Kurtas are amazing to create an illusion of a taller body. You can dress them up or down as per the occasion and the place and pair them up with leggings or distressed jeans for a more indo-western look. Add a piece of chunky jewellery and you are good to go. monsoon-collection-by-rangriti-3-min

Asymmetrical Kurtas:

These kurtas are great for office wear and you can even alter the look by pairing them with straight fit silk pants or palazzos instead of leggings. Try adding some basic jewellery to go for a more Indian look.celebrate-the-spirit-of-mothers-day-with-an-exclusive-collection-of-rangriti-420x300

Anarkali style Kurtas:

For me, these are one of the most elegant Kurta styles and suits every body type. They are available in either different lengths, knee-length or ankle length and can be paired with pretty kolhapuri chappals on a casual day and high-heels for weddings and other special occasions. Accessorize the outfit with a pair of pom-pom earrings and see how you are going to be the talk of the town.

Denim-style Kurta:

Ok, so this is a style that’s quite new to me and with the whole trend of denim and chambray going on everywhere, why not flaunt this fabric with your Kurtas! I found some amazing collection of denim-styled Kurtas on Rangriti’s online website. Here’s my favourite pick.screen-shot-2016-11-14-at-9-34-56-pm

Maxi style kurtas:

So these are just like anarkalis, but with lesser flares, that makes them look just like as if you are wearing a cotton maxi dress. You can wear them with regular leggings or wear them as maxi dresses with a waistcoat or a cropped denim jacket and add a jhola to your shoulder, and you have the perfect college look. You can get some inspiration from these pictures too.

Double-layered kurtas:

These kurtas are just what they sound like. They give an illusion of two different layers of fabric and some of them are even detachable and can be worn as single pieces too. These are relatively newer styles, but are extremely flattering and trendy.mothers-day-collection-by-rangriti-3

Other than these 6 styles, there are also the basic princess cut kurtas that most of us were introduced to at the beginning of our kurta journeys. They can be worn with leggings or even skinny jeans and are the most comfortable for the college-goers or those who have no time to dress up to office everyday.

You would definitely love the Rangriti collections and just for all the BIBA lovers, Rangriti is their sister brand. The brand has made sure to bring all the high-end fashion to their consumers at a very affordable and attractive price , which makes it easier for the women to be fashionable everyday. They have a wide range of pretty kurtas, kurtis,  pallazzos, skirts and dupattas in beautiful, bright prints and colours  bringing freshness, variety & style to every woman’s closet. Sareez.com- A one stop solution to all your ethnic wear shopping problems!

Hola,

I love dressing up in Indian ethnic wear and I can any day say that I prefer a saree over anarkalis or lehengas because of the fact that it makes every woman look classy and sexy in them. The fact that there’s so much variation to sarees in terms of fabric, design and even the way you style them, makes it even more awesome to flaunt them. I like my sarees to be simpler in designs or usually prefer light-weight fabrics like Chiffon, Georgette or Cotton.

When Sareez.com contacted me to try out their sarees, I was ecstatic, one because I’d seen so many great reviews about them on YouTube and two, because I had so many weddings to attend and they just made my life a lot easier.

About Sareez:

“Sareez is one of the largest and the most recognized online stores for Indian ethnic wears. Founded in 2009, Sareez, today, has emerged to be a globally loved and preferred provider of a variety of Indian ethnic attires including Sarees, Salwar Kameez, Lehengas, Sherwani, Kaftans and more. We are based out of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. We at Sareez boast of our team of designers and craftsmen, who works together to make our dream of defining Indian ethnicity come alive.”

I had been delaying this post from quite sometime because the pictures weren’t that great and didn’t come out as I’d planned thanks to the horrible horrible weather in Chennai. Within minutes, my makeup was just melting like a crazy monkey and it all showed up in the pictures. Nonetheless, I still wanted to put them up for the simple fact that the sarees still looked super gorgeous and makeup or my face really shouldn’t be a topic of botheration right. I think we all are friends enough to give me a Hall Pass for this 😀

So I picked up 3 beautiful sarees, two for me and one for my mommy. Before I left Chennai, we had a mini family photoshoot (you’ll see my awesome family in the pictures below) and I wore this pretty green saree with a beautiful hint of yellow, golden and pink to it. The moment I saw this saree on the website, I knew I had to get this. It was so simple, yet there was something so beautiful in the colour and how it looked. Mommy dear wore this pretty purple Banarasi saree which according to her is definitely not for summers. It’s kind of makes you feel super hot but otherwise, the saree is amazingly made and has a great finnish to it. The best part about sareez.com is that they even have the option of getting the blouse and the petticoat pre-stitched while ordering from their website, which is a pretty good and saves you time and trips to the tailor. But make sure to give the right measurements or it can be a big pain and definitely a waste of money.

The second saree I got  from Sareez.com was this beautiful beautiful browny-yellow georgette saree which is super light-weighted and is comfortable to wear too. I think this is one saree that I won’t mind wearing the entire day without worrying about tripping over it. The floral design makes it all the more fun to wear it and also  received a beautiful boat neck blouse in a contrasting red colour which goes so well with the saree. The fabric feels really soft and is perfect for  office wear especially if you live in cities that are humid and hot. Mind you guys, I haven’t put any makeup on because my skin was acting crazy and I didn’t want it to become worse by putting makeup on. So if you plan to give any hate comments, please stay away from the blog!!!

The shipping did take some time for one of the sarees but the other two came pretty quickly. They have quite an amazing collection of sarees, suits and lehengas and are decently priced too. Apart from that they also have a LIVE CHAT option which according to me is quite good as any query can be clarified quickly without going through the hassles of sending them emails and waiting for a reply for ages. I highly recommend Sareez.com to all those who are looking for a variety in ethnic Indian wear and also want a good value for their money.

Which is your favorite saree among the three? Do you love wearing sarees? Make sure to let me know in the comments section below as I would love to know your thoughts on it.
