6 Kurta Styles that all women should know about!

Hello everyone,

Kurtas are such a staple piece in most of our wardrobes, be it a college-goer or the corporates, there is a style for each one of us. When I was in college, I was obsessed with wearing a new mufti everyday and tried not to repeat them again in the week and again when I started working, this obsession grew even more. There are so many varieties and styles of Kurtas available in the market as well as online and the best part is, there are some brands that want to bring these styles to us at a pocket-friendly price too.

One such brand is RANGRITI, that offers a range of bright and colourful Kurtas online for every woman out there. ‘Rang’- meaning colour and ‘Riti’- meaning fashion or trend; Rangriti brings out a line that is a fine blend of feminine cuts and beautiful shades in sync with the latest fashion trends. After going through their vast collection of Kurtas online, here are some of the styles I feel that every woman should have in her closet. I have   also talked about how to style kurtas in different ways in this previous post HERE.

Straight Fit Kurtas:

These kind of Kurtas are amazing to create an illusion of a taller body. You can dress them up or down as per the occasion and the place and pair them up with leggings or distressed jeans for a more indo-western look. Add a piece of chunky jewellery and you are good to go. monsoon-collection-by-rangriti-3-min

Asymmetrical Kurtas:

These kurtas are great for office wear and you can even alter the look by pairing them with straight fit silk pants or palazzos instead of leggings. Try adding some basic jewellery to go for a more Indian look.celebrate-the-spirit-of-mothers-day-with-an-exclusive-collection-of-rangriti-420x300

Anarkali style Kurtas:

For me, these are one of the most elegant Kurta styles and suits every body type. They are available in either different lengths, knee-length or ankle length and can be paired with pretty kolhapuri chappals on a casual day and high-heels for weddings and other special occasions. Accessorize the outfit with a pair of pom-pom earrings and see how you are going to be the talk of the town.

Denim-style Kurta:

Ok, so this is a style that’s quite new to me and with the whole trend of denim and chambray going on everywhere, why not flaunt this fabric with your Kurtas! I found some amazing collection of denim-styled Kurtas on Rangriti’s online website. Here’s my favourite pick.screen-shot-2016-11-14-at-9-34-56-pm

Maxi style kurtas:

So these are just like anarkalis, but with lesser flares, that makes them look just like as if you are wearing a cotton maxi dress. You can wear them with regular leggings or wear them as maxi dresses with a waistcoat or a cropped denim jacket and add a jhola to your shoulder, and you have the perfect college look. You can get some inspiration from these pictures too.

Double-layered kurtas:

These kurtas are just what they sound like. They give an illusion of two different layers of fabric and some of them are even detachable and can be worn as single pieces too. These are relatively newer styles, but are extremely flattering and trendy.mothers-day-collection-by-rangriti-3

Other than these 6 styles, there are also the basic princess cut kurtas that most of us were introduced to at the beginning of our kurta journeys. They can be worn with leggings or even skinny jeans and are the most comfortable for the college-goers or those who have no time to dress up to office everyday.

You would definitely love the Rangriti collections and just for all the BIBA lovers, Rangriti is their sister brand. The brand has made sure to bring all the high-end fashion to their consumers at a very affordable and attractive price , which makes it easier for the women to be fashionable everyday. They have a wide range of pretty kurtas, kurtis,  pallazzos, skirts and dupattas in beautiful, bright prints and colours  bringing freshness, variety & style to every woman’s closet. Make sure to checkout the Rangriti online website for their latest collections.

“Wear It”- The Virtual Mirror at Jealous 21

Hello everyone!!!

I am super stoked today to tell you all about this new and  highly advanced technology based concept introduced by Jealous21 at their Indiranagar, Bangalore store.  I don’t know how many of you have tried this, but a few years back creating avatars and dressing them up was a huge craze and I used to totally enjoy it. This is somewhat the same concept used by the awesome people at Jealous21 in “wear it” , but instead of an animated avatar, here they use our very own scanned self  of our body.

So let me tell you a bit how the Virtual Mirror or the “Wear it” works. The system identifies our size and shape as we stand in front of it and uses the motion- capture camera to produce a realistic image and gives us an idea how an outfit would look on us. So in short, we are trying out outfits without actually waiting in those long queues outside the trial rooms. The whole concept has been designed so beautifully that it can be controlled through our hand gestures. All we have to do is use our palm to navigate through various outfits and by showing a “pushing” gesture we can select outfits to see how it would look on us. The use of hand gestures might be a bit new to you in the beginning but after using it for a while, it will be smooth as silk to you and you would love the experience. They also have a mouse and keyboard in case you find it difficult to use hand gestures.

You can “mix-n-match” your lowers and tops according to your preference and create various looks which can be shared on your social media like Facebook or even sent to your email through the virtual mirror which I think is absolutely fabulous and fun.Though I would definitely mention that this will only help you see how an outfit might look on you but not help you with the correct fitting, but still saving a lot of time from sorting out clothes or wondering how it would look on you or if the color would look good on you or not.

I have always loved the denims at Jealous 21 and have been shopping from them from quite a few years. They have recently launched their new Miss Universe collection with the brand ambassador being Paulina Vega(miss universe 2014) and there are various fits catering to the Indian women body types ranging from Hottie, Hourglass and Bootilicious. I think creating amazing silhouettes and fabrics keeping in mind the customer’s requirement is something that really impressed me about Jealous 21 since the time I’ve started shopping from them

Unveiling the Kazo’s AW15′ Collection

HOLAAA….

I have stayed most of my life is the northern part of the country and the winters out there is cruel and harsh and now that I’m in Bangalore, I don’t get to experience that much. Thanks to the constant pouring from the last 2-3 weeks, the weather out here has become pretty chilly and one can feel that WINTER IS HERE!!

A few days back I was invited for a blogger’s meet at the Indiranagar Kazo store where they were going to launch their new party and winter wear collection. For the first time , I got to meet some of the most amazing fellow bloggers from Bangalore there. I got to check out their new collection before the event started and found some really unique pieces ranging from their cool jackets to classy handbags to some  pretty and elegant accessories. The one thing that I noticed in the store was even though there was a lot of sequins and bling involved in their collection, it still looked subtle and classy and not tacky at all and that’s what impressed me. You can still pair up their sequinned tops and dresses and go out for a day-out without looking like a DISCO BALL. The handbags and clutches had some really nice silhouettes and winter appropriate.

The event started with the managing director, Deepak Agarwal telling us that the aim behind putting up this well organised bloggers meet was to extend help to the fashion connoisseurs and offer an array of new patterns and embellishments that reflect the free spirit ethos of the company. The only thing missing was a footwear section and on asking Mr Deepak, we got to know that they have plans of coming up with footwear collection soon in the future. The most EXCITING part of this whole event was that we were given a chance to style ourselves in their new collection in a mere 30 minutes and also walk the ramp.

I chose an embellished animal printed dress and paired it up with a black faux leather jacket. Since the dress was a statement in itself, I didn’t want to go over the board, hence carried a black box clutch and a simple neckpiece (Took a bit more than 30mins though :P) All my fellow bloggers looked stunning in the KAZO collection and we were judged by Mr. Deepak for the walk as well as how the outfit defines our style statement. Even the men in the event were asked to walk the ramp and I must say they were not bad at all.We were all handed over our Kazo goodie bag and treated with some yummy snacks.

All-in-all, this meet was super fun, meeting the lovely ladies and getting to know more about blogging, styling myself everything was enthralling and high-powered. I am definitely going back to get my hands on a jacket that I really liked for my birthday and you guys should definitely pay a visit too if you are in Indiranagar this weekend to check out their new collection.

Happy Weekend 😀
