My New Found Love- Miri Skincare Balm Review

Hello Everyone,

Where have I been all this while??? Well! I was trying to blend in a new country, around new people and culture. It took me  more than a year to discover myself here. Trust me it isn’t easy and not what it looks from the outside. Long story short, I’m back and trying to get back into what I love the most-sharing my experiences with you lovely people 🙂

I’ve been trying out a lot of new skincare and makeup ranges exclusively made in New Zealand and recently came across ‘Miri Skincare’ on Instagram. I was so mesmerised by its pretty green packaging, that I had to have one in my skincare kit. The team at Bare PR and Miri Skincare was kind enough to send me a sample to test out and I have all things good to say about this multi-purpose balm.

But before that, here’s a small introduction about the brand- When Miri’s founder Paul Jarvis saw his wife and her friends extensively using a popular Aussie brand’s multi-purpose balm which had petrochemicals in it, he knew he had to make something that was New Zealand made and had no nasty ingredients in it. NZ is well-known around the world for its kiwifruits and Manuka honey and that’s what Paul Jarvis wanted to include in his product for its exceptional properties, and that was the birth of the Miri Balm. Miri is a Maori word that means ‘to rub, smear or smoothe’.

Ingredients: With no nasty ingredients, Miri balm mainly consists of kiwifruit seed oil and Manuka honey with Omega 3 and is completely paraben and SLS free. Find the ingredients list in the below picture-

How to use: This magical balm can be a life-saviour in all seasons for various skin-related issues. It can be used for issues like chapped lips, dry hands, rashes, burns or insect bites.

My experience:

The tube is a perfect size for your handbag and I’ve been carrying this balm in my bag everyday to work. I’ve super dry and chapped lips all year around and this is kind of a staple for me everyday in the morning. I use a tiny amount on my lips before applying my matte lipsticks and this ensures that the lipsticks don’t crack and also keeps my lips hydrated.

The balm has helped my cuticles to heal to a large extent. I rub a small amount on my cuticles and massage it for a minute so that the product is completely absorbed. They are also an amazing solution to cracked heels due to its antiseptic property.

I was a bit skeptical about it being oily, but honestly the product is non-sticky. It gives a nice shine to the skin and completely gets rid of dryness. The absorption takes a few minutes, but you would not feel the need of constantly moisturising your skin after using the balm.

Overall, I find this product great and I feel having an all-purpose product is superb when you’re travelling or going to work as you can refrain yourself from carrying bulky skincare kits everywhere.Due to the absence of many preservatives, it’s recommended to shake the tube well before using to so that the ingredients can mix well together.

I would totally recommend this product to everyone and to all my Non-NZ readers, this is currently available only in NZ pharmacies at RRP $12.99. I hope Miri Skincare starts selling internationally, so that the world can experience this tiny tube of goodness.

Have you tried Miri? Which is your favourite all-purpose balm? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Till then stay awesome 🙂
