Sareez.com- A one stop solution to all your ethnic wear shopping problems!

Hola,

I love dressing up in Indian ethnic wear and I can any day say that I prefer a saree over anarkalis or lehengas because of the fact that it makes every woman look classy and sexy in them. The fact that there’s so much variation to sarees in terms of fabric, design and even the way you style them, makes it even more awesome to flaunt them. I like my sarees to be simpler in designs or usually prefer light-weight fabrics like Chiffon, Georgette or Cotton.

When Sareez.com contacted me to try out their sarees, I was ecstatic, one because I’d seen so many great reviews about them on YouTube and two, because I had so many weddings to attend and they just made my life a lot easier.

About Sareez:

“Sareez is one of the largest and the most recognized online stores for Indian ethnic wears. Founded in 2009, Sareez, today, has emerged to be a globally loved and preferred provider of a variety of Indian ethnic attires including Sarees, Salwar Kameez, Lehengas, Sherwani, Kaftans and more. We are based out of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. We at Sareez boast of our team of designers and craftsmen, who works together to make our dream of defining Indian ethnicity come alive.”

I had been delaying this post from quite sometime because the pictures weren’t that great and didn’t come out as I’d planned thanks to the horrible horrible weather in Chennai. Within minutes, my makeup was just melting like a crazy monkey and it all showed up in the pictures. Nonetheless, I still wanted to put them up for the simple fact that the sarees still looked super gorgeous and makeup or my face really shouldn’t be a topic of botheration right. I think we all are friends enough to give me a Hall Pass for this 😀

So I picked up 3 beautiful sarees, two for me and one for my mommy. Before I left Chennai, we had a mini family photoshoot (you’ll see my awesome family in the pictures below) and I wore this pretty green saree with a beautiful hint of yellow, golden and pink to it. The moment I saw this saree on the website, I knew I had to get this. It was so simple, yet there was something so beautiful in the colour and how it looked. Mommy dear wore this pretty purple Banarasi saree which according to her is definitely not for summers. It’s kind of makes you feel super hot but otherwise, the saree is amazingly made and has a great finnish to it. The best part about sareez.com is that they even have the option of getting the blouse and the petticoat pre-stitched while ordering from their website, which is a pretty good and saves you time and trips to the tailor. But make sure to give the right measurements or it can be a big pain and definitely a waste of money.

The second saree I got  from Sareez.com was this beautiful beautiful browny-yellow georgette saree which is super light-weighted and is comfortable to wear too. I think this is one saree that I won’t mind wearing the entire day without worrying about tripping over it. The floral design makes it all the more fun to wear it and also  received a beautiful boat neck blouse in a contrasting red colour which goes so well with the saree. The fabric feels really soft and is perfect for  office wear especially if you live in cities that are humid and hot. Mind you guys, I haven’t put any makeup on because my skin was acting crazy and I didn’t want it to become worse by putting makeup on. So if you plan to give any hate comments, please stay away from the blog!!!

The shipping did take some time for one of the sarees but the other two came pretty quickly. They have quite an amazing collection of sarees, suits and lehengas and are decently priced too. Apart from that they also have a LIVE CHAT option which according to me is quite good as any query can be clarified quickly without going through the hassles of sending them emails and waiting for a reply for ages. I highly recommend Sareez.com to all those who are looking for a variety in ethnic Indian wear and also want a good value for their money.

Which is your favorite saree among the three? Do you love wearing sarees? Make sure to let me know in the comments section below as I would love to know your thoughts on it.

Hair Show by the God of Long Hair – Patrick Cameron

Hello everyone,

It feels so good to be back! I know I’ve not been the least good to you all by not posting anything since a while, but that’s because I was moving to a totally new place and getting used to an unfamiliar place and getting comfortable in being yourself is kind of difficult especially when you are all by yourself. Anyway, now that I’m back for good, I hope to be regular and when I say “I hope”, that’s because now I’ll be shuffling between blogging, my new University and also looking for some part time job and well that’s not really  going to an easy task, but I love you all way too much to just not blog at all. At least 1 post per week would definitely be there, pinky promise 😀

Coming back to the post, almost a month back, I got a chance to attend a hair show organised by Wella where the famous hair stylist, Patrick Cameron, who’s also known as the God of Long Hair showed us some amazing modern contemporary hairstyles on beautiful long hair. The brand recently brought down Wella Global Ambassador Patrick Cameron to educate 1800 hair stylists across three cities in India through grand shows where he exposed them to the various possibilities of hair styling and his association with Wella. He believes that hair styling is an expression of individuality and thus cannot take a back seat.

He did a very interesting and dramatic hair styling demonstration on 10 different models and made each of them look so easy to do in real life. All his 10 hair styles were inspired by the retro age but with definitely a twist. According to him, retro or vintage hair styles were all about sleek bouffants but the contemporary vintage hair styles are all about texture, a lot of volume and tons of hair spray. The best part was, these hair styles can be easily done within a span of 8-10 minutes , provided you are good with hair sprays and bobby pins. 😛

All the models were in beautiful Indian attires which were appropriate for weddings and cocktails and looked stunning with the added magic of Patrick’s work. The part I loved the most about his demonstrations were the intricate details he gave during each of his hairstyles. He mentioned that, Indians are not very familiar with hair styling products and has a notion that they would spoil their hair. In fact it’s the other way round! These hair styling products are specially designed to make your hair more manageable and easy to style with no damage, provided you wash off all the product later and make sure there are no residues left.

The entire session was so interesting and there was no point where I found it boring or too much to take. His energetic persona and love for hair styling was so visible during this entire session and having heavy and thick hair myself, some of his tips have really been a saviour to me. I have also received some hair styling products which I’m definitely going to use and review in the near future.

What is your take on hair styling products? Do you think it’s a life saviour to us women, or spoils the hair? MAke sure to comment below and tell me what your thoughts are?

Till then stay awesome 😀

Good Girl Gone Bad| #MeetRihannaWithPUMA

Hello everyone,

If you follow me on my social media profiles, you would know that recently I have become a part of POPxo as one of their POPxo Blogger and when they, PUMA and Myntra came together to give one lucky person the chance to meet Rihanna in person in USA, I was more than ecstatic to be a part of it. So before going through the post, please take some time and vote for me by clicking this link and help me win this awesome chance to meet Rihannahttp://bit.ly/28KHiuQn1It will ask you to login, click on “Login to participate” and then vote by clicking the “heart” icon.

If you don’t know yet, PUMA has collaborated with Rihanna for their FENTY Collection which truly describes Rihanna’s style- edgy, sexy and bold. All I had to do was buy a PUMA product from Myntra and style it my way , but this time I wanted to go all out and try something out of my comfort zone and what better inspiration than Rihanna herself. I chose an oversized red T-shirt from the Men’s section and a grey coloured backpack from Myntra. I have seen RiRi styling any kind of look with so much confidence and likes a more casual, more sporty look, and she rocks it to the fullest. I decided to pair the tee with a denim dungarees skirt that I bought from Sarojini Nagar Market during my recent Delhi visit along with my Sky Hi sneakers from Koovs. I have recently been way too obsessed with anything that’s 90’s and wanted to go for a grunge 90’s look which is something that’s been sported quite a lot by RiRi.

It’s pretty obvious that I cannot match anywhere near her style, but style is all about taking inspiration from the looks you like and putting in your own bits to it right! Also, double buns are trending these days and I recently saw RiRi flaunting them too in one of her casual night looks, hence tried these double buns which I absolutely loved. Keeps all the hair away from the face and looks super cute in a not so kiddish way.
